Bill Gates was never poor. He is not the son of a Woodcutter.

Bill Gates' dad was a lawyer

Bill Gates- The founder of Microsoft and currently the second richest person in the world with a net worth of $102B. Everyone knows Bill as the owner of one of the biggest companies on this planet- 'Microsoft'. Besides being an entrepreneur, Bill is also a big philanthropic and has donated one-third of his wealth to different charities. Currently, Bill is very active in philanthropy through his foundation named after his wife Melinda.

Bill was a Harvard dropout who started his company while studying, but he also was a bright student. He was a National Merit Scholar when he graduated from Lakeside School and had scored 1590/1600 in Scholastic Aptitude Test. In short, He was good at academics.

There is a famous story that Bill rose from a poor family, more accurately, that he is the son of a woodcutter. A story about Bill in the restaurant went viral on social media. I'm sure you know this story. But if you don't the story goes like this-

This story is totally untrue. Bill Gates was never poor, in fact, he had access to learn to program in the computer which only 0.01% of the population at that time had access to.

Bill was born into an upper-middle-class family and had a good upbringing. His father, William Gates was a renowned lawyer and one of the founding partners of Preston gates and Ellis which is now a part of K&L Gates LLP- one of the largest law firms in the world. He was an attorney and Bill's mother, Mary Gates was prominent in the Seattle community. Her network allowed Bill to work with IBM which was very much needed for Microsoft to grow. So, he wasn't a poor guy neither was he extremely rich.

Tell me in the comments if you knew the story was fake.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Netflix could've Died Netflix!! We all know about this company and we love it so much. Is it not keeping us alive in this lockdown? Today, I don't really think there are people unaware of this 'Online Streaming Giant'. But back in 1998, when Netflix had just started, things weren't as they are today. People used to buy DVDs and watch them on DVD players on weekends. At that time a company named 'Blockbuster'  dominated this industry. At that time Blockbuster had 9,904 stores and had employed 84,300 people whereas Netflix was just a baby. Netflix used to mail DVDs which people could order online. You can say it like a DVD selling version of Amazon. But still, they were online, unlike Blockbuster which had physical stores. It was difficult for a small company like Netflix to fight with such a big company and the other competitors. In the year 2000, Reed Hastings the founder of Netflix decided to offer a deal to Blockbuster. Everyone at that time expected Blo...
